Afternoon Bride for Barbie, Poppy Parker, and Victoire Roux

You know me and vintage wedding hankies … I just can’t get enough of them! The hand embroidery is exquisite!

I was soaking a bunch of vintage hankies in OxyClean to brighten them and take away any yellowing from age when I found this one in my stash.

I made a new skirt pattern that was full enough to show off the embroidery but still fit on the 11” square hankie. Not an easy feat! I used scraps from another wedding hankie to make the bodice and hat. Belt and rhinestone brooch are included too. Available now in my Etsy shop.

It can be challenging to capture very pale shades of pink in a photo. While I do have some good photography lights, the winter sun is just not helping me out. So I made a little pink tulle wrap, changed dolls, and tried a variety of backgrounds to bring out the color. Did I succeed?

Blush Becomes Her for Barbie, Poppy Parker, and Victoire Roux

I found a pair of exquisitely hand-embroidered wedding hankies on eBay and just had to dig right in on one of them. The hankie was very sheer, so I layered it over a pink linen hankie to give the gown a blush color and highlight the embroidery. Pink pearl buttons over metal snaps fasten the corset top. A back slit adds movement to the skirt. And that lucious embroidery absolutely covers the gown. Available now in my Etsy shop.
