Inspired by an iconic 1957 Christian Dior gown, this sewing pattern features a stunning portrait neckline, and a ruched, bubble skirt that simply floats over the floor. It makes up beautifully in silk taffeta (well, really, what doesn’t?). Available to download now from my Etsy shop.

If you like making the easy bodices from my sewing patterns Party Time, Evening Gala, Holliday Affair, and Lavinia, you’ll love this bodice pattern as well. All of these bodice patterns have no pesky side seams to worry about and use straps that you tack onto the back of the bodice for a perfect fit. The Lorali bodice features a wide v-neckline with straps that sit just off the shoulder and form cap sleeves. The skirt may look complicated, but it just requires a series of simple steps to complete beautifully, with each step illustrated with photos. Pattern available now in my Etsy shop.
