Getting ready for GAW Barbie Convention

The GAW Barbie convention is in Livonia, Michigan, in April. I started prepping in January. My OOAK doll is finished and ready for auction. I finished another OOAK gown for a centerpiece to go with the theme, House of B’doll. I’ve started on my spring collection of dresses and have 8 made so far (goal is 25-30). My 2025 Hankie Chic calendars have been printed and are ready to go. (They make great table gifts!) https://hankiechic.etsy.com/listing/1664704786

I always try to make at least one new miniature to sell for those who like to do dioramas. For the past few years, I’ve been collecting miniature vases, bottles and salt shakers when I go antiquing. I finally set aside some time yesterday to make flower arrangements to go in them. Here are some of the arrangements I’ll be taking with me (they didn’t all fit on the display). I think I made about 30 in total.

Lots of work still to do … stay tuned!

Free sewing pattern for ribbon skirt

I’ve been making skirts for a friend from some beautiful brocade and grosgrain ribbons found at East Coast Trimmings in NYC. The skirts are super quick to make, so I thought I’d share the pattern so you can have some fun too. Use ribbon widths from 3”-5” for skirts of varying lengths. These skirts are unlined, so you’ll want to finish the back edge with a zip zag stitch or serger so it doesn’t ravel. Download the pattern below.

Violet for Barbie and friends

I’m trying out a new dress pattern (coming soon) using silk taffeta gingham check in shades of lavender and white with a white cotton batiste bodice. I added a white sunhat and decorated both the dress and hat with lavender silk flowers and green velvet leaves. Available now in my Etsy shop.
