This week I found the softest faux mink fabric at JoAnn Fabrics and just had to make a fur stole with it. I think it goes well with my Coach cocktail dress made from a silk Coach scarf. A magnetic rhinestone brooch is included. Available now in my Etsy shop.
What’s better than a vintage inspired little black dress? How about one with a versatile capelet that converts to a peplum/overskirt when worn at the waist. I took my inspiration from a circa 1960 Butterick sewing pattern. I lengthened the capelet to better show off the border print. Now available in my Etsy shop.
I’m been really inspired by vintage sewing patterns lately. I saw this Simplicity pattern from 1959 on eBay and Etsy and fell in love with the neckline. So after three attempts at the pleated bodice, I finally figured out how to simplify and redraw the pattern Barbie size. I want to make the full skirt version too and then publish the sewing pattern for you sewers to enjoy. So watch for the pattern coming soon. Dress is now available in my Etsy shop.
I bought this hankie at an antique shop because the colors were so vibrant and I loved the border print. I was able to use every scrap of border on the skirt and bodice and used some coordinating pink silk for the waistband and bows. And who else to model the dress than Proudly Pink Silkstone Barbie. Available now in my Etsy shop.
I added sleeves to one of my bodice patterns and used my new skirt pattern to make a fetching dress from a vintage hankie by designer Tammis Keefe. The hankie has a tone on tone print that works nicely in 1:6 scale. Available now in my Etsy shop.
I happened to have two identical vintage printed hankies with this perfectly scaled houndstooth in lavender and white with a red floral border. I immediately thought of making a suit, so of course the jacket needed a ruffled peplum from the hankie border. This fashion is available now in my Etsy shop.
It’s bubble time! Who doesn’t love a good bubble skirt dress made from a vintage round hankie? This one comes with the belt, hat, and magnetic rhinestone brooch. Available now in my Etsy shop.
Now that spring has finally arrived, I decided to make up this hand embroidered daisy hankie into a new fashion for our favorite doll. Now available in my Etsy shop.
This is a custom order for a customer who sent me a box of hankies. She wanted a gown for Valentines Day.
A friend keeps me well stocked in vintage scarfs and luxurious fabrics so I can make OOAK fashions for his doll. This latest custom fashion is made from a vintage silk scarf featuring colorful cats.
