This dress is hand sewn from a vintage Burberry handkerchief. Available now in my Etsy shop.

I do love a good Burberry plaid, especially when it comes in pink! To really show it off, I cut the front panel of the dress on the bias and framed it with black polka dot fabric that continues up into the straps of the dress. Of course the look wouldn’t be complete without a hand sewn straw hat with silk ribbon embroidered flowers. Available now in my Etsy shop.
I’ve also just posted some hand knitted throws, hats and scarves, courtesy of my sister.
This blouse and skirt set is very forgiving and will fit a variety of dolls from Silkstone Barbie to vintage Barbie and more. The blouse is based off a vintage Barbie blouse and is actually a bodysuit, so it’s guaranteed to stay nicely tucked in. The original blouse had facings, but my version is fully lined. The skirt is made from a vintage Burberry handkerchief. Watch for the pattern, coming soon. Outfit available now in my Etsy shop.
I imagine most people decorate for Christmas in the traditional red and green. I, however, decorate for Christmas in pink and green. So when I found this vintage pink and green Burberry argyle handkerchief, I thought “Christmas.” Although, some may think “Easter” instead, but either way, it’s a versatile dress. Available now in my Etsy shop.
Also available are these doll size throws hand knitted by my sister in Christmas green and Evergreen.
I’ve been working on a bunch more custom orders (I know, I know, I need to post pictures soon!), but I took a short break to make up this adorable red and black Burberry plaid handkerchief into a holiday-worthy dress for Barbie and friends. Available now in my Etsy shop. Oh, and did I mention I’m having a sale? Spend $50 or more and get 25% off your purchase!
When I think Burberry, I think plaid. But they do more than plaid, as attested to by this feminine floral handkerchief. The little “B’s” may be for Burberry … but I also think Barbie. Although, this dress will fit a variety of dolls. I’ve tried it on vintage Barbie, Poppy Parker, Victoire Roux, Color Infusion, Elyse Jolie, and Silkstone Barbie and it fits them all quite nicely. Magnetic rhinestone brooch included. Available now in my Etsy shop.
While I did take some time off to go antiquing this weekend, I’ve also been busy sewing some custom order dresses from vintage designer hankies. Sorry, these are already taken, but I have fabric leftover from both of these hankies, if you’re interested.
I had just enough fabric left from the blush Burberry hankie to make this skirt set. My mother will be pleased that I managed to match the plaid at the seams so well. It’s one of her pet peeves when ready to wear clothing has mismatched plaids. I pulled out a vintage Marian Martin sewing pattern to use for the blouse. According to the pattern envelope, it came from the pattern department of the Detroit Free Press. Who knew that newspapers used to have pattern departments? Fashion available now in my Etsy shop.
I ran across a Burberry handkerchief in blush pink and just couldn’t resist. I thought they only knew how to to plaid in classic tan, so the pink was a pleasant surprise. I opted for a full skirt to show off the plaid, and an off the shoulder fitted bodice with short sleeves. Available now in my Etsy shop.
