I found this gorgeous antique lace on Etsy and just had to buy some! The vibrant flowers are embroidered over a black tulle base. I layered the lace over black Dupioni silk to make the flowers pop and then made the bodice from contrasting rose colored silk. Dress available now in my Etsy shop.
I decided to try making another dress inspired by a vintage 1960’s dress pattern. I had a bit of the antique silk net lace left over, so I layered it over the waistband and side drape to add some contrast to the mauve silk fabric. And I pulled out my Audrey Hepburn Silkstone to model, since the dress is so of her era. Dress is on sale now in my Etsy shop.
I had just enough of this antique silk net lace to make one more dress. So this time, I paired it with amethyst silk tissue taffeta. The neckline lends itself to an extravagant necklace, so if you’ve got a special piece of jewelry to show off, this is a great style for your doll. Available now in my Etsy shop.
Time for a pink palate cleanser! I found some gorgeous antique silk net lace that I just knew would look gorgeous layered over some turquoise silk shatung. I had trouble getting the photos to show just how rich and luxurious this dress is, so you’ll just have to take my word for it. Available now in my Etsy shop.
Several months ago, I found this gorgeous vintage embroidered net lace. I didn’t know what I was going to make from it, but I knew it would come to me. Then I found this iridescent rose gold dupioni silk that coordinates beautifully. So I made a new bodice pattern with one shoulder and a bow, and layered the lace over the silk fabric for the skirt. This fashion available now in my Etsy shop.
