My husband has to stop at the post office tomorrow, so I’m listing a bunch of dresses for 12 hours only. After this post office run, it might be a few weeks before he gets out again, so these dresses will only be listed for a limited time and then I’ll take them down again until we can get out again. So get these beauties quickly! I’m still working on getting listings created, so keep checking back.
I’ve just listed a new sewing pattern in my Etsy shop. This is a classic early 1960’s silhouette with angled bust darts and a shorter skirt with inverted pleats. The sleeveless bodice has an optional collar detail.
You may have noticed I only have digital patterns available for sale in my Etsy shop during this time of “stay home, stay safe.” But, never fear, I’m still sewing. Here’s a sneak peek of some of the fashions I’ve been working on that will hopefully be for sale in a few weeks.
If you’ve followed my blog for very long, you’ll know I love a good peplum. So I decided to play with Dupioni silk and embroidered vintage hankies to come up with some variations using the peplum as my unifying theme.
I will not be reserving these fashions in advance of sale. Once my shop reopens for shipped items, it will be first come, first served.
I’ve just published another sewing pattern, available to download as a PDF from my Etsy shop. This pattern is inspired by a 1950’s Vogue sewing pattern and features an elegant wrap with puffed sleeves. And the good news is, all of my sewing patterns are currently on sale!
If you’re looking for an interesting show to binge watch while you’re social distancing, check out Handcrafted in America, currently available on demand on Amazon Prime.
The show is hosted by Jill Wagner, who you might recognize from some Hallmark movies. Jill travels across the United States visiting people who make specialist crafts. There are 39 episodes available, and you’ll see everything from clock making to custom made jeans.
Each episode, Wagner visits three different artists to discuss and study their craft. She jumps right in and helps out. I love that she’s game for anything, from welding, to wiring a lamp, sewing a quilt, blowing glass, making a football, and more. And I’m jealous that she ends up with so many cool things to take home! Check it out. You just might get inspired to try a new craft!
While we’re all staying home and staying safe, I thought it might be a good time to have a sale on my patterns. They’re all instant download pdf files, so you don’t even have to worry about shipping! I currently have 6 different patterns available to download. Go to hankiechic.etsy.com to purchase. Happy sewing!
Michigan’s governor, Gretchen Whitmer, has issued a “stay home, stay safe” order for the next 3 weeks due to Covid-19. So to avoid trips to the post office, I’ve removed all listings from my Etsy shop, except for pdf downloads of my sewing patterns. Never fear, I’m still sewing! Once the all clear is sounded, watch for a bunch of new fashions to appear in my shop!
