Hubby and I have been vacationing with family in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, and the surrounding area for the past couple of days. I haven’t been doing much sewing, but I have been shopping and found some cool 1:6 scale treasures.
In a local pharmacy, I found the iron and ironing board. Made by Maileg Danish Design, this set was in a display of stuffed rabbits along with other 1:6 scale miniatures like a vintage refrigerator, stove, and baby pram. Visit their website at http://www.mailegusa.com for a visual treat. Thinking I’m going to have to set up Barbie’s sewing room again to show off this set.
The two cats are ornaments I found at the Christmas Mouse in the Hammock Shops Village. The chair, statue, and corner cupboard were sourced from various antique shops, including Inlet Queens which is less than a 1/4 mile from our rental house. I’m planning to paint the corner cupboard and sew a petit point cushion for the chair. The mini notecards printed from watercolors by a local artist will make nice artwork for Barbie.
And besides shopping, we have been on a plantation river cruise, waded in the ocean, and tried out some good seafood restaurants. So far, so good. More to come.
These are so great. You see the world in miniature every where you go. I find myself looking at most things as they relate to Barbie too.

Thank you, Brenda! And you have even more flexibility with minis since you design foe Gene too. I find a lot of minis that are just a little too big for Barbie but would probably be perfect for Gene. But I don’t dare collect another scale of minis too—I’d definitely run out of room!
