You should know I love hand embroidery and vintage lace. This dress definitely combines those loves.
I had two black vintage hankies embroidered in cream. One had a lovely border on all sides and one had some floral embroidery in the corner around a monogram. The monogrammed hankie had some thin spots to work around but pieces of the embroidery were intact and absolutely gorgeous. So I used the border hankie for the skirt and peplum and the monogrammed hankie for the one shoulder part of the bodice and the waistband. To continue the asymetrical design of the bodice, I appliqued some pieces of vintage lace onto the waistband and accented it with a black rhinestone in the center of the flower.
While all of my dresses are one of a kind, this one is truly unique.
That is truly gorgeous Sylvia, I assume you are keeping it. I would! Chris

Thank you, Chris. Actually, I did list it in my shop and it sold in about 10 minutes. I just keep the pictures. 🙂
